I Miss Crossfit!

WOD for 6-10-2009

Tabata Deadlift

Ok...so I missed Monday and Tuesday. Trying to get a routine developed for school. So far, school sucks. I go to class from 9-12ish, and then come home, break for lunch, and then study pretty much from 1-9. Thing is, I read the stuff, and I don't really know how much I am learning right now. Not to the cramming phase yet. Just the making notes stage. Would rather be running or doing burpees than sitting at my table writing and writing and writing. No clue how peole who work 9-5 jobs can do this all day! I get so bored sitting in one place! Ok..to the workout.

I used 125# for the workout. I really wanted to do 150#, but I was warming up and I felt something wrong in my back...so I went to 125#. Got 37 reps...should have been much much more since deadlift is one of my best lifts. Probably shouldn't have even done the WOD, but I wanted to. My back is oh so sore! Oh well...yeah for motrin! Well, sorry this isn't long guys, but I am late for hitting the books!

Diet for yesterday:
Breakfast: egg whites, turkey bacon, 3 strawberries, 6 almonds
Lunch: 4 turkey slices, almonds, 3 carrots
Dinner: none
Total Water Intake: a freaking lot!

Diet for today:
Breakfast: didn't eat, did 6AM WOD
Lunch: 3 slices of turkey, 4 almonds.
*not really hungry, so just not eating.

  1. Glad you made it in today! It'll get easier once you get in the swing of things. Good luck studying!!

  2. Great to see that you got to workout today, Amy! I'm glad you were able to make the time. That WOD was rather painful; I couldn't even get to 125#--I stopped at 123. Got in 43 reps, and wow by the end of the 2nd to last round, I wanted to quit. Way to go, Amy. :)

Sorry to hear about your back; time to visit Erin? Good luck with your studying!

  3. Thanks guys! Back is going to be fine. I have back issues anyway. Just didn't think it would happen on such an easier weight! I was actually sad to only be doing 125#. Grr...And as for the back, I have some left over steroids from my last sciatica flare up. That and I have been taking motrin and tylenol for the pain. That's the thing about being in the medical field. You get all the drugs you need! I actually got ahead tonight, so that was good. I miss you guys! The 6AM isn't as much fun without you!!

  5. I think the lack of working out is affecting my appetite. Seriously. All I do is sit and read and write. I am just not very hungry. Not hungry, don't eat.

  6. I can commiserate with you on that, Amy. When I'm super stressed/busy with studying, I "forget" to eat. It's almost as if I'm subconsciously afraid to waste any time on eating because I'm so focused on getting the reading/assignment done! But really, the not eating is not good! Make yourself take a short 15-20 minute break to at least stretch, walk around, and snack on some almonds or something. It might help you focus even better by refueling you and resting your eyes.
